Description of the measure

Increasing the energy content in the feed ration and feeding high digestible roughage

Comments on sustainability

During heat periods, the animals have a higher need of energy to cool down. To satisfy the need, the feed ration should be more energetic without having too little fibre. The adaptation of the feed has to be done step by step. During heat periods, the roughage should have the best quality.
