Description of the measure

Earlier sowing of spring- and later sowing of winter crops

Comments on sustainability

Due to a longer vegetation period, the sowing times can be adapted. Earlier sowing of spring crops has the benefit of using the winter water storage and avoiding the summer heat and drought in July/August due to an earlier ripening of the crops. Later sowing has the advantage of reducing the excessive growth of winter crops before winter. The risk of insects and pathogen pressure is therefore reduced and the yields can be stabilised.
