Description of the measure

After the harvest, crop residues such as straw or stubble is left on the field and a shallow incorporation is conducted

Comments on sustainability

The crop residues on the field avoid bare soil after the harvest. This means that the risk for erosion, for drying out and for overheating is reduced. At the same time, the crop residues are the food for soil organisms which contribute to the formation of humus.
