Description of the measure

A year-round soil cover by optimised crop rotation

Comments on sustainability

A year-round soil cover leads to an active soil life, a good soil structure, less nutrient leaching, increased CO2 storage, a higher biodiversity and to stable yields. For this, the crop rotation has to be adapted with e.g. under sowing, a balanced relationship between stalk-/leaf crops, winter/spring crops with catch crop cultivation between winter crops as well. Technical advice may be necessary.
