Description of the measure

Cooling of the grapes when they are harvested during high temperatures in order to ensure an optimal fermentation

Comments on sustainability

Increasing high temperatures during the harvest, and therefore warmer grapes, affect the further processing of the grapes. This means the grapes must be cooled down. By cooling the grapes, GHG emissions increase. For the farmer it entails a further working step and some investment, which should be balanced out by a better price for the good quality.
